HARRA presents the 34th Running of the Bayou City Classic 10K

Race Date: Race Day is Saturday, March 12, 2010.
Start Time: Wheelchair participants begin at 7:50 a.m. Runners and walkers begin at 8:00 a.m.
Where: The race begins in Downtown Houston, with the Start Line on Louisiana Street near McKinney Street. The Finish Line is on Walker Street by City Hall.

Distance: The race distance is 10 kilometers (or 6.2 miles).

Entry Fees:
•Individual: $30 (If received on or before March 2: $25)
•HARRA Member: $28 (If received on or before March 2: $23)

Each Centipede Member must be registered. Only entries received before February 19 and include an additional $3 fee will be mailed. Online Registration will be open until 10 p.m. CST February 28 through active.com. You can use the printed form and mail it with your check (postmarked on or before March 2) or bring it to Packet Pick Up with your check or cash. There are no refunds--if you cannot participate in the race, the proceeds from your entry will go towards the Houston Parks and Trails fund as a charitable contribution.

Packet Pickup (and Late Registration):

There is no race day packet pick up! If you would like to have your packet mailed to you, your registration must be postmarked or received on or before February 19 and include a fee of $3 (in addition to your entry fee). Course:
Our race course is certified by Road Running Technical Council of USATF TX04001ETM. The course starts and finishes downtown with a loop on scenic Memorial Drive near Buffalo Bayou. Fast, flat and fantastic! For more information on our course, visit our Course Information Page.

Finisher Shirts:
All finishers will receive a Finisher’s T-shirt at the Post Race Party (no shirts will be given out prior to the race).

Post Race Party and Awards Ceremony:
After the race, enjoy refreshments donated by our fabulous sponsors, and live music in front of City Hall around the reflection pool in Hermann Square. The awards ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. The party goes on and on!

Parking:
Please arrive early enough to find parking and make your way to the Start Line before 7:45 a.m. Street parking is not free on Saturdays and streets around the Start Line and Finish Line may be closed. You can find the locations of parking garages in format here. If you do not have Adobe Reader, .

Race Scoring:
Race scoring will be done by ChronoTrack DTag. You will not be considered an official finisher if you do not wear the tag on your shoe. The tag will be attached to your bib number. You must detach the tag from your bib and attach it to your shoe prior to the start of the race. You will NOT need to return the tag at the conclusion of the race. You will NOT be able to use your personal timing chip for this race. For more a demonstration on how to attach your tag, please view the video.
